2018 Ford F550
On July 30th 2018, MVFD added a second ambulance to the fleet to provide redundancy in Morningside’s basic life support capabilities. When Ambulance 27A is undergoing maintenance work, Ambulance 27B provides frontline basic life support services to the community to ensure there is no gap in coverage for this critical, life-saving capability. In addition, the unit provides Morningside volunteers the capability to put two ambulances in service when staff levels permit. Ambulance 27B was built by Demers on a Ford 550 chassis.
Ambulance A27B, along with its sister unit Ambulance 27A, responds to all types of Medical Emergencies including: Heart Attacks, Diabetic Emergencies, Difficulty Breathing, Abdominal Pains, Allergic Reactions, Obstetrical and Gynecological Emergencies, Strokes and a variety of Traumatic Injuries (Shootings, Stabbings, Assaults, Vehicle Accidents and Falls).
