Pathways to Prosperity In The Fire Service

Pathways to Prosperity

Once you are in, you’ve just begun. After becoming a member of a volunteer department or landing a paid Fire/EMS job, the journey has just begun. Education, training, experience, recognition, promotion, excellent service are pathways to personal success. It is a personal search for the pathways that suit you as an individual that matters most.

It’s Your Choice

One peculiar aspect of the service is the peanut gallery. People in the service constantly observing the pathways chosen by others and commenting to anyone who will listen, what their opinion is of someone else’s path. All in an effort to influence you. Subsequently, many talented people lose their way, neglecting their own path, because they spend all their energy volunteering to be commentators. Much energy is expended trying to convince you to choose to be deluded by engaging in useless banter. Focus on your pathway and reject the pathway of mediocrity. In reality, why does it matter to you what someone else is doing?

Choose Wisely

Do not let pay, or the lack thereof, keep you from choosing a pathway that leads to your success. Consequently, don’t let the opinion of others stop you from making a choice that is best for you. There is no free pathway and the benefits cannot measured when you take free training, providing free service to others to eventually gain a paid position. The first step to prosperity begins with making a choice to take the journey. To that end, the Morningside Volunteer Fire Department is having a free orientation program offering at the station on December 21, 2019, at 12 noon. (6200 Suitland Road, Suitland Maryland) Our mission is to show you how making a personal decision to serve others leads to the prosperity you may be seeking. Come Join Us!
