Busiest in 2015
The numbers are in from the County and they are staggering. In 2015, we were the busiest All Volunteer Fire Station in Prince George’s County with 8,034 unit responses – the Busiest Rescue Squad in the County with 2,357 Runs for the Squad (does not include the Rescue Engine running as a Rescue Squad) – the Busiest All Volunteer Ambulance with 3,274 runs and maintained 7.8 personnel on the floor around the clock while logging 68,605 man hours of staffing participation.
Even more surprising is that Company 27’s Local Alarm area was 23rd busiest of 46 areas reported. Company 27’s Local Alarm area generated 2,664 runs – which was more than Company 20 (Upper Marlboro), Company 12 (College Park), Company 31 (Beltsville), Company 18 (Glen Dale), Company 35 (Greenbelt), Company 30 (Landover Hills), Company 43 (Pointers Ride, Bowie Station), Company 39 (Bowie-Freesate, Bowie Station), Company 45 (Croom), Company 40 (Brandywine), and Company 36 (Baden) – whose Local Alarm areas are either larger or more populated.
It was a great year for Company 27 as we wrapped up our second year as an All Volunteer Company. We are honored to be grouped with other All Volunteer Companies who provide service solely with Volunteer Members – (Company 9 – 7,188 Runs, Company 11 – 4,401, Company 7 – 4,254, Company 37 – 3,836, Company 28 – 3,834, Company 13 – 1,876, Company 8 – 1,479, Company 17 – 1,012 and Company 33). Lets see what 2016 brings, we are on pace to have another exciting year of citizens serving their community.
